THE INCREDIBLE FEAST WHERE THE FARMERS ARE THE STAR

Presented by the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance
“Bringing Washington’s small farmers into Seattle’s neighborhoods”

Seattle’s Biggest Gathering of Local Gourmet Chefs and Farmers

Open-air summer event featuring 30 sumptuous dishes prepared and served by Seattle's best chefs

The food is unrivaled and unique, the setting perfect for a summer evening: the year’s best outdoor party partners farmers and chefs to create unforgettable dishes, this year with a country fair twist. The purpose: to raise awareness about Washington’s local family farms and to raise money for the Good Farmer Fund – disaster relief for farmers in need.

The 4th Annual "Incredible Feast - Where the Farmers are the Stars" takes place on Sunday, August 24, 4:30 – 7:30 pm, outdoors at the Phinney Farmers Market site at the Phinney Neighborhood Center.  With live music, country-fair-style games and fabulous prizes, the 'Feast' has been a sold-out success since its first year.

The fundraiser was conceived by Chef Tamara Murphy of Brasa Restaurant and is organized by Chef Tamara and the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance.  Tamara’s inspiration for this event comes from her personal experience of cooking with local farm and sea products.  She says: “Chefs get all the glory for their creations, but it is vitally important to acknowledge the local farmers who are the backbone of these culinary successes.  Citywide farmers markets have made us rethink what tastes good and the value of local, seasonal, sustainably-grown food. We need to recognize their efforts, get to know them better, and above all…thank them!"

Come spend a fun and relaxing summer evening sampling an amazing array of flavors fresh from the farm as 30 gourmet chefs team up with over 40 local farmers to create unique dishes at this entertaining and delicious event.  Each dish features seasonal, sustainably-raised farm products, from meats, to seafood, to vegetables, to desserts, with Certified Salmon Safe local wines and microbrews available for purchase in the beer garden.

This year, the organizers have partnered with Salmon-Safe wines, sponsors of the wine and beer garden. Salmon Safe certification means that vineyards protect and restore salmon habitat by planting trees on streams, growing cover crops to control run-off, and apply natural methods to control weeds and pests while producing world class wine.

Fun country fair highlights include a section for Daisy Mae’s Corn Crib with farm fresh corn and roast suckling pig, a Dessert Roundup silent auction featuring sweet donations from some of the best dessert chefs in Seattle, and games for all ages with great prizes to win!

Proceeds benefit the educational programming at the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance and the Good Farmer Fund; an emergency relief fund for farmers who suffer loss due to weather, flooding or personal hardship.
