In recognition of the more than 200 local Comcast employee volunteers and their families who volunteered on Comcast Cares Day last fall, the Comcast Foundation awarded a $4,500.00 grant to 21 Acres. This grant will help support the on-going programs of 21 Acres including sustaining the local farm, the completion of the nautical spiral garden and educational classes like the upcoming Orchard Pruning and Backyard Gardening seminars.

“We’re extremely proud of our employees who have generously given of their time and talents to impact their neighborhoods on Comcast Cares Day and throughout the year,” said Len Rozek, Comcast Senior Vice President of Washington State and Woodinville resident. “We're also excited for the opportunity to work alongside wonderful non-profit organizations including 21 Acres to make a difference in Woodinville."

More than 200 volunteers from Comcast’s Everett Call Center worked on October 7, 2006 to revitalize the grounds at 21 Acres.  The volunteers harvested, weeded, planted, constructed raised garden beds, spread mulch on trails and worked in the wildlife corridor.
