Kids’ art contest promotes creativity and awareness
Kindergarten - 6th graders in our community were asked to use any of the following words or phrases to inspire their artwork: Fruits,Vegetables, Flowers, Planting, Growing, Farming, Community Gardens.
The judges used the following guidelines to choose the winning artwork.
1) Fits in with the theme.
2) Is bold old enough to be transferred onto a
canvas bag.
3) Is inspiring and would represent 21 Acres well.
The intention of the project is to inspire creativity, create awareness of 21 Acres and the Community Garden, provide locally grown food to our community, and support the use of re-useable shopping bags!
The first place artwork will be printed onto canvas bags which will be sold locally. The proceeds will benefit 21 Acres and the community garden.
More than 200 entries from the recent art contest were on display at Gallery 13 in Apple Farm Village, the Sammamish Valley Grange and Barnes & Noble in Woodinville.
